Emerging Talent: Dylan McArthur Joins Forest Systems as Customer Service Engineer

At Forest Systems, it's one of our top priorities to build a team of driven individuals who are committed to helping us grow. Recently, we've added Dylan McArthur to the Forest team as Customer Service Engineer.

A recent graduate of Austin College in Sherman, Texas, Dylan received a bachelor’s degree in computer science with a minor in accounting. He is a full stack developer with diverse and extensive expertise across a range of technical skills, including Java, Python, Visual Studio, and more. Dylan is a problem solver and strategist, designing technological tools and solutions that yield significant benefits and results.

We sat down with Dylan to learn more about his background and work at Forest.


Forest Systems (FS): What’s your professional experience been so far?

Dylan McArthur (DM): I graduated from college this past summer, so I’m just beginning my professional career. While I was getting my degree, I worked the entire time, including AI testing and training for Remotasks. In this role, I coded answers to prompts that users would submit. For example, if someone asked the AI to code a tic-tac-toe game for them in Java, I would have to write that code so that the AI could have it on hand to reply to the user immediately.

FS: You were an All-American collegiate water polo player. How has that experience impacted your professional experiences?

DM: My experience as a student athlete has helped me grow more comfortable working and communicating with new people. My first year I didn’t know anybody, so it forced me to improve in that category to succeed athletically. It also helped me become a much stronger leader, especially after I was named captain my junior year. Similarly at Forest, I’ve had to manage and steer a group of people towards a common goal.

FS: What’s exciting to you about the future of the Forest platform?

DM: Allowing people to do what they think best has catapulted Forest to the top of the market in a very short time with a very small team, and I’m excited because it will only keep growing from here.

FS: What's a feature of the Forest platform you wish every family office or CPA firm knew about?

DM: This isn't necessarily a feature, but the personal touch that Forest gives to each of its clients is something I wish everyone knew about. There are no automated responses or long wait times when issues arise for clients. They can immediately get through and get on a call to resolve an issue.

FS: What’s a trending business story you’re following right now?

DM: I have been following the development of AI very closely. I see it as a tool to eliminate a lot of tedious daily tasks. Just in the last four years, AI has gained the ability to do taxes, write policies, and even automate a large portion of getting a SOC 2 report. It has made my job significantly easier, and I am glad we as a company are open to its possibilities.
